My wife is a genetic counselor. She asked me to write a song for her graduation. It took forever. It also took her help. But this song was the result. It includes a lot of inside jokes. Things like building pedigrees, all of the paperwork, and the endless cycle of information they have to correct from people reading about genetics on blogs.

How time has flown. Oh Look! It's Monday morning!

I pick up the phone on the second ring
DTC testing… It’s my favorite thing.
But I hear them out. I assess their Risk.
But every word I say is missed.
They fill my brain with questions. I groan in despair,
Because they read about it on a blog somewhere.
Keeping my patience is oh so hard.
It’s just another case of MTHFR.
